In a significant development, the police arrested five individuals, including two women, on Monday in connection with a gang involved in threatening individuals with rape during massages and committing robberies. The arrests were made as part of an investigation into a honey trap case in Kota.

The police, led by Additional Police Chief Sanjay Gupta and Deputy Chief Harshraj Singh Khareda, formed a special team under the supervision of station in-charge Babulal Rager, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects. City Police Chief Sharad Chaudhary revealed that the gang’s modus operandi involved luring victims under the guise of a new massage parlour, where they were then threatened, assaulted, and robbed of cash and valuables.

The case unfolded when Ramesh Soni, a resident of Badora village in Baran district, reported receiving a WhatsApp call from a girl who claimed to have opened a massage parlour near Kalpana Chawla Circle. Upon arriving at the given address, Soni found no massage parlour, but instead, four individuals arrived, threatening him with a false rape case. The gang proceeded to loot Rs 50,000 in cash and gold and silver ornaments, assaulting and leaving Soni at Ghantokach Chowk later that night.The police initiated an investigation into the incident, assigning Assistant Deputy Inspector Ful Singh to lead the case.

Acting on information received on Monday, the police raided the three lights circle Dadabari area, resulting in the apprehension of Komal Sharma, Ankit Sharma’s wife from Baran, Ankit’s son Ramsvaroop Sharma, Shweta, wife of Santosh Sen, Naveen Bairwa from Bombay Plan RK Puram, and Babulal Meena, son of Manoj and resident of Baniyani Kothun. Following their arrest, the suspects were presented in court and remanded to one day’s police custody.
