Indian golfer Karandeep Kochhar concluded his campaign at the International Series Singapore with a commendable tied 19th position. Kochhar carded a third consecutive round of 1-under 71, finishing as the top Indian performer in the tournament. The event featured a prize purse of USD 2 million.
Spain’s David Puig secured a commanding victory with a five-shot lead in a wire-to-wire triumph. Puig concluded the Asian Tour event with a final-round score of one-over-par 73, ending with a remarkable 19-under total. South Korea’s Jaewoong Eom secured the second position after carding a final-round 69.
Among other Indian golfers, Honey Baisoya finished tied for 44th place after shooting a 70 in the final round. Veer Ahlawat, who carded a 75 on the final day, dropped to a tie for 51st place, while Viraj Madappa finished tied for 59th with a final-round score of 73.
Karandeep Kochhar’s round featured most of the action on the front nine, where he secured three birdies. However, he faced two bogeys by the eighth hole. He parred the remaining 10 holes to conclude the round with a score of 71.
American golfer Andy Ogletree closed with a 69, which included a hole-in-one on the par-three fourth, securing a tie for third place with Thailand’s Poom Saksansin.
David Puig began the day with a nine-shot lead, thanks to his impressive rounds of 64, 66, and 66 in the earlier rounds. Although he made a minor wobble with bogeys on the 11th and 14th holes, the 21-year-old maintained a six-shot lead as he approached the 18th hole, which his playing partner Jaewoong Eom birdied.
The next golf event on the calendar is the Macao Open, marking its return for the first time since 2017.
