In Rajasthan, the Congress party has released its manifesto, announcing various initiatives. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge along with chief minister Ashok Gehlot, former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, and many other party members released the ‘Jan Ghoshna Patra’ – at the state party office in Jaipur.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s announcement of a caste-based census is now included in the Congress party’s manifesto. Meanwhile, the coverage of the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme has been increased from 25 lakh to 50 lakh rupees. The cylinder under the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme, which was available for 500 rupees, will now be provided at 400 rupees if Congress comes to power again. Congress has also stated that like in 2018, this time, the manifesto will be made a government document after coming to power. The party, while releasing the manifesto, stated that 95% of the promises made last time have been fulfilled.
Film City work to commence in the first year of the government’s term.
Congress has promised to establish a Film City in Rajasthan in its manifesto. It is stated in the manifesto that the construction of the Film City will commence in the first year of the government’s term. It is worth mentioning that if the Film City is constructed, it will not only boost tourism but also increase employment opportunities. Local artists will also have the opportunity to work in films.
Law to be brought for MSP.
In the manifesto, Congress has mentioned bringing a law for the minimum support price (MSP) for the purchase of crops, supporting farmers. All farmers will be provided interest-free agricultural loans of up to 2 lakh rupees from cooperative banks. Additionally, a detailed plan will be presented to implement the former Rajasthan Canal project systematically.
10 lakh jobs in five years.
Congress has made several promises for the youth as well. In this series, the commitment has been made to create 10 lakh employment opportunities in five years. The significant aspect is that out of these, 4 lakh will be government jobs. A recruitment plan will be introduced at the panchayat level, where these employees will gradually be merged with government vacancies, providing employment at the ground level.
Kharge: Why would I abuse Modi’s father?
After releasing the manifesto, the Congress leaders addressed the reporters. Congress’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge roared against Prime Minister Modi. He stated that Congress fulfils every promise it makes. On the other hand, he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the statement in which the PM had said that Kharge had abused his father. In response, Kharge questioned, “Why would I abuse Modi’s father? I lost my mother in childhood. I was five years old when she was cremated. At that time, only my father and I were left. But this liar is claiming that I abused his father. He is trying to defame me.”
Regarding the allegation of distributing Revadi (a snack), he asked, “If we are distributing Revadi, then what are they doing by giving five kilograms of grain?” He also said that the BJP and PM Modi are copying the schemes of the Congress government. He emphasised that Congress has always made promises that can be fulfilled.
Improvement in Rajasthan’s economic condition: Gehlot
Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot, while releasing the party’s manifesto, said, “The way we have managed the economic situation in Rajasthan, the people of the state will be proud of it. Talking about the economic conditions of the last five years, per capita income in Rajasthan has increased by 46.48 per cent. When the BJP government was in power, we were 30th in per capita income in the country, and now we have come to the 12th position. In 2020-21, the state’s GDP reached 19.50, which is the highest in this decade.”
He said, “Congress has also promised to form the Legislative Council in Rajasthan. Currently, there is only the Legislative Assembly in Rajasthan, and MLAs are directly elected by the people. In states where the Legislative Council exists, it functions similar to the Parliament, with Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council working like Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, respectively.”

Congress leader Sachin Pilot praised the party’s manifesto, saying that it is a good manifesto that takes care of all categories. He said, “People trust the promises of Congress. I believe Congress will get a clear majority in Rajasthan, and the party will once again form the government in the state.”
It should be noted that during the release of the manifesto, prominent Congress leaders were present, including Mallikarjun Kharge, the chairman of the All India Congress Committee, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra, Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, Congress leader Bhavar Jitendra Singh, Pawan Khera, Mukul Wasnik, and Pramod Tiwari.
