Election campaigning in the Karanpur constituency of Sriganganagar district came to a halt on Wednesday evening. Voting will take place there on Friday. Both parties campaigned vigorously until the last minute.
Many prominent leaders, including Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra, were involved in the Congress candidate Rupendra Singh Kooner’s campaign. Meanwhile, BJP state president CP Joshi, Rajendra Rathore, and several other BJP leaders had set up a base there for BJP candidate Surendrapal Singh Titi for several days.
However, the BJP has already made a big move here. The party has made its candidate Surendrapal Singh Titi a minister before the voting, making the election interesting. While the Bharatiya Janata Party is strong in the electoral arena based on the power of the government, the Congress is seeking sympathy to win the election. There is also opposition from the Congress to making Titi a minister.
Although the BJP government has been formed in Rajasthan, the Congress wants to make itself appear strong once again by winning this seat. So far, many leaders, including former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and National General Secretary Sachin Pilot, have campaigned in favour of Kooner.
