Justice Ramesh Dhanuka sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court on Sunday. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais administered the oath of office to Dhanuka at the Raj Bhavan.
For those unversed, Dhanuka, who was born on May 31, 1961. He attended school in Mumbai and later went to University of Bombay, to obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Eventually he got interested in Law and earned a degree in the same.
In 1985, he began practicing law at the Bombay High Court in the chambers of Justice DR Dhanuka (Retired), and remained there until his appointment as High Court Judge of Bombay in 1990.
He has been on the senior counsel panel of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai for several years and has appeared in a large number of matters in the Bombay High Court on behalf of the Municipal Corporation. On January 23, 2012, Dhanuka was appointed as an additional Judge of the Bombay High Court.
