On Friday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President and Union Minister JP Nadda emphasized the importance of maintaining the current government in Bihar to drive the state’s development. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nadda highlighted that under his leadership, Bihar is progressing on the development path.

Nadda stated, “To truly transform Bihar, it’s crucial to support the existing government. Under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance and the current administration’s efforts, Bihar is making significant strides in development.” He further noted, “Previously considered ‘bimaru rajya’ or backward states, Bihar, along with Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and others, are now evolving into developing regions under the leadership of PM Modi and the respective Chief Ministers.”

Earlier in the day, Nadda inaugurated the new eye care building at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Science (IGIMS) hospital in Patna, alongside other medical facilities in Bihar. Reflecting on the event, he remarked, “In 2019, the last foundation stone I laid was for the ophthalmology department here, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar present. Now, as a minister again, my first inauguration is also at IGIMS.”

Nadda also highlighted the achievements of the Modi government in the health sector over the past decade, mentioning the expansion from 6 to 22 All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) institutions. He expressed gratitude to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for facilitating the land for an AIIMS in Darbhanga.

Addressing the impact of the Ayushman Bharat health coverage scheme, Nadda pointed out that India now boasts the world’s largest health coverage program, supporting 55 crore individuals with up to 5 lakh rupees each. He concluded by emphasizing that India leads globally in universal health coverage.
