Dense fog during the winter season has added to the woes of travellers, causing the cancellation and diversion of flights. On Tuesday, 11 flights scheduled to travel from Delhi to Amritsar were diverted to Jaipur Airport due to increasing fog in Northern India. Flights originating from various cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Bangalore, en route to Delhi, were redirected to Jaipur, leading to a surge in air traffic at Jaipur Airport. Furthermore, flights from Jaipur to Ahmedabad and Pantnagar (Uttarakhand) faced sudden cancellations.
The dense fog in Delhi resulted in the diversion of several flights to Jaipur Airport on Tuesday. The affected flights included SpiceJet SG-204 from Bangalore to Delhi, Air India AI-818 from Ahmedabad to Delhi, SpiceJet SG-160 from Hyderabad to Delhi, Air India AI-513 from Bangalore to Delhi, IndiGo 6E-2108 from Lucknow to Delhi, Air India AI-436 from Bhopal to Delhi, Akasa Air QP-1145 from Ahmedabad to Delhi, Akasa Air QP-1359 from Bangalore to Delhi, Air India AI-914 from Dammam to Delhi, SpiceJet SG-56 from Dubai to Amritsar, Vistara UK-972 from Pune to Delhi, and QuickJet’s cargo flight from Mumbai to Delhi.
Adding to the disruption, IndiGo’s 6E-7482, operating from Jaipur to Pantnagar, faced an abrupt cancellation, causing inconvenience at the airport counters. Additionally, the Jaipur-Ahmedabad flight, numbered 6E-7276, was cancelled without any given reason.
This follows Monday’s incident where six flights destined for Delhi had to be diverted to Jaipur due to the inability to land at Delhi Airport. Furthermore, a flight from Jaipur to Udaipur had to return due to adverse weather conditions in Udaipur.
