In a major breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charged two ISIS radicals, Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taaha, in connection with the high-profile Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast. The NIA revealed that both accused had conspired to join ISIS in Syria and were involved in radicalizing young individuals to the terrorist group’s ideology.
Shazib, identified as the bomber, and Taaha, were arrested 42 days after the explosion from their hideout in West Bengal. The chargesheet details how the duo, part of the busted Al-Hind ISIS module, used fraudulent Indian SIM cards, dark web identities, and cryptocurrency funding to plan and execute violent acts.

The March 1 explosion injured nine people and caused extensive damage to the cafe. The NIA also linked the accused to a failed IED attack on the BJP office in Bengaluru earlier this year.
