The Indian Navy’s advanced frigate, INS Tabar, arrived in Hamburg, Germany, on Wednesday to participate in an exercise. During the visit, activities will include professional exchanges between the Indian and German Navies, tours of the German Naval Academy, and public visits to the ship. The crew of INS Tabar will also engage in community service at a local Old Age Home.

As the frigate departs Hamburg, the two Navies will conduct a Maritime Partnership Exercise at sea. These interactions aim to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the maritime sector, and provide an opportunity to showcase Indian culture.

India and Germany enjoy a relationship founded on shared values, democratic principles, and a mutual commitment to global peace and security. Their partnership spans various domains, including economic cooperation, scientific research, cultural exchanges, and notably, defense collaboration. The visit of INS Tabar is intended to further reinforce these ties and explore new opportunities to enhance the relationship between the two Navies.

INS Tabar, a stealth frigate built in Russia for the Indian Navy, is commanded by Captain MR Harish. It is equipped with a diverse array of weapons and sensors and is among the earliest stealth frigates of the Indian Navy. The ship is part of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet, based in Mumbai under the Western Naval Command.
