A shocking incident has emerged in Bhilwara, where a dog mauled the face of a 6-month-old innocent girl. The mother made efforts to drive away the dog but was unsuccessful. On hearing the commotion, nearby people came and chased away the dog.

The child was taken to the hospital in critical condition. An hour after the surgery, the child succumbed to injuries. The incident occurred on Sunday at 4 pm in Haziyas village in the Gulabpura police station area of Bhilwara district.

The victim’s uncle, Rajmal Jat, explained that his 6-month-old niece Chinki, who was sleeping in a cradle, was being looked after by her mother Chhoti Devi, who was going to feed the cows and buffaloes after tying them. During this time, a stray dog roaming in the lane came there. The stray dog attacked Chinki who was sleeping in the cradle.

When the mother heard the cries of the girl, she saw that the dog was mauling her innocent child. Seeing the attack on her daughter, Chhoti Devi tried to drive away the dog, but it continued to bite her persistently. The dog severely bit the innocent girl’s mouth and jaw. On hearing the commotion, family members rushed there and drove away the dog. Subsequently, the girl was immediately taken to Bhilwara Hospital. Meanwhile, enraged villagers, after the incident, beat the dog to death.

The child was admitted to the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Bhilwara, where an anaesthesia team took care of the child and performed surgery on the girl’s face for about an hour.
The doctor also repaired the damage to the girl’s left jaw during the surgery. After the surgery, the child was shifted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), but an hour later, she succumbed to her injuries.
