In a stark reflection of the job market challenges faced by international students in Canada, a recent video shared by Nishat, an Indian student in Toronto, has brought attention to the fierce competition for part-time jobs at Tim Hortons. The footage captured a long queue of applicants outside a Tim Hortons outlet, with Nishat describing over 100 students waiting for their chance at a job fair.

Nishat, who has been diligently searching for a part-time job for a month, arrived early for the job fair only to find himself amidst intense competition. Despite submitting his resume and discussing availability with Tim Hortons staff, he expressed uncertainty about securing employment, having also traveled to a distant location to apply at another store.

The viral video underscores the escalating unemployment among international students in Canada, prompting widespread concern and commentary on social media. Fellow Indian students shared their own struggles, lamenting the difficulty in finding employment opportunities, attributing it to overcrowding and rising competition in the job market.

As frustrations mount among students seeking part-time work, some have suggested exploring alternative job sectors such as construction or truck driving, which reportedly have higher demand in Canada. Others reminisced about a time when Canada offered more abundant opportunities for growth and employment, expressing disappointment over the current challenges faced by newcomers.
