The Indian Army has successfully intercepted and thwarted five intrusion attempts by Pakistani drones (Hexacopter) near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Balnoi and Gulpur areas of Poonch district in Jammu. Multiple rounds were fired at the Pakistani drones, forcing them to retreat back to the Pakistani side.
Officials have confirmed to The Daily Guardian that the back-to-back attempts by Pakistani drones occurred in two sectors of Poonch district along the LoC. Upon detection of the suspected drones, Indian Army units promptly responded with gunfire, compelling the intruding drones to withdraw.
In addition, the Army officials affirmed that while multiple incidents were reported near the LoC, all attempts of intrusion were effectively thwarted by the Indian troops. Security forces are currently conducting thorough searches in the area to eliminate any possibility of weapons or narcotics being dropped by these drones.
Sources indicated that three attempts were made in the Balnoi area of Mendhar in Poonch, while two similar incidents occurred in the Gulpur area of Poonch earlier this morning. Indian Army units deployed in the area responded swiftly with heavy firing to repel the intrusions.
This latest development follows a similar incident on February 11, where Indian Army troops successfully prevented a drone intrusion attempt by Pakistan near the LoC in the Mankote area of Mendhar sector, Poonch district. Upon detection, the Indian forces engaged the Pakistani drone with multiple rounds of fire, compelling it to retreat to the Pakistani side. The Indian Army’s proactive response underscores its commitment to ensuring the security and integrity of the nation’s borders, particularly in areas prone to such intrusions. These efforts highlight the vigilance and readiness of Indian security forces to thwart any attempts to breach the country’s territorial sovereignty.
