International Democracy Day is celebrated on 15 September. This day provides an opportunity to make people understand the importance of democracy and the effective realization of human rights. This time the event is special because Vaishali Democracy Mahotsav is being organized on 15th September at Nalanda University, which is famous as the land of knowledge. Nalanda University is considered to be the world’s first centre of study and research.
The special thing about this program is that former President Ramnath Kovind will participate in it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video message will be broadcast through. It will be attended by Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma, Union Minister Giriraj Singh, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, ICCR President Vinay Sahastrabudhe. ICCR Chairman Vinay Sahasrabuddhe is playing an important role in organizing the Vaishali Democracy Festival. Preparations for this festival are going on in full swing at Nalanda University.
Ambassadors from many countries will also participate in this program. JN The book will also be released by UK VC. Two main topics will be discussed in this festival. The first will be on the implementation of democracy. This panel will be chaired by Assam Chief Minister Hemant Vishwa Sharma, while the ambassadors of Nepal, Chile and Egypt will brainstorm in this panel. The same second panel will be on the culture of democracy, it will be chaired by JNU’s VC Mrs. Shantisree Pandit. Ambassadors of Argentina, Sri Lanka will participate in the discussion in this panel. Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh will give the concluding speech.
Our country India is a democratic country. Wherever the democratic system is implemented in the world today, it is the gift of ancient India only. According to the historical evidence, the republic system was implemented in Vaishali about 2700 years ago. It was also known as the Vaishali Republic.
