Tragedy Strikes: 25-Year-Old Air India Pilot Dies By Suicide, Boyfriend In Custody
A tragic incident unfolded in Mumbai as a 25-year-old Air India pilot, identified as Srishti Tuli, was found dead in her rented apartment at the Kanakia Rainforest building in Andheri’s Marol area. Police reported that Tuli allegedly died by suicide on Monday, using a data cable. No suicide note was discovered at the scene.

Following a complaint from Tuli’s family, her boyfriend, Aditya Pandit, 27, was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide. According to an officer from Powai police station, Tuli’s uncle accused Pandit of frequently harassing her and publicly humiliating her. The complaint also alleged that Pandit pressured Tuli to alter her dietary preferences, urging her to stop consuming non-vegetarian food.

Reports suggest that in the early hours of Monday, Tuli had called Pandit, who was en route to Delhi by road, and expressed her intention to end her life. Alarmed, Pandit returned to Mumbai but found the apartment door locked. He summoned a locksmith to open the door and discovered Tuli hanging inside. She was rushed to SevenHills Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police revealed that Tuli, originally from Uttar Pradesh, had moved to Mumbai in June last year. She met Pandit two years ago during a commercial pilot course in Delhi, and the two began a relationship soon after.

Pandit has been booked under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and remanded to police custody until November 29.
