The newly launched PC & PNDT Online Portal aims to digitize and modernize the enforcement of the Act, making processes more transparent and efficient. By replacing manual procedures with a digital system, the portal enhances accountability, ensuring compliance among registered facilities and preventing the misuse of ultrasound technology for sex determination. Available at https://pcpndt.delhi.gov.in/, the portal offers key services such as automated Form F submission for ultrasound clinics, an online complaint registration system for the public, and real-time compliance tracking for registered diagnostic centers. These features will significantly improve government oversight and regulatory enforcement.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh reaffirmed the government’s commitment to gender equality and the protection of girl children. He congratulated officials on launching this digital initiative, emphasizing its role in improving Delhi’s sex ratio, currently at 922. He stated that Delhi, as the nation’s capital, must set an example in eliminating sex-selective practices and that this initiative would further strengthen efforts to end gender-based discrimination. He also directed officials to ensure strict action on complaints received through the portal and to uphold accountability at all levels.

During the event, officials from the Directorate of Family Welfare briefed the minister on the government’s ongoing enforcement actions, awareness campaigns, and legal measures under the PC & PNDT Act. In 2024-25, a total of 627 inspections were conducted, leading to 70 show-cause notices, 13 suspensions, 53 cancellations, and 22 ultrasound machines being sealed in Delhi. Additionally, legal proceedings and decoy operations have been carried out to prevent unlawful activities related to sex determination.

To further raise awareness, the Delhi government has intensified Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns under the ‘Beti Utsav’ initiative. These efforts include billboard advertisements, newspaper outreach, and community engagement programs promoting the importance of the girl child. The Government of NCT of Delhi urges medical professionals, enforcement authorities, and the public to collaborate and ensure the success of this initiative, working together to build a balanced and inclusive society.
