Group Captian Shubhanshu Shukla arrived in Lucknow on Monday after returning from the International Space Station (ISS). He was welcomed by friends, family, and a large crowd gathering at the Lucknow Airport. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak was also present to welcome him.
Pathak stated that people of Lucknow have been waiting for him ever since he returned from the Axiom-4 mission. He said, “Today is a big day for Lucknow. The son of Bharat, the son of Lucknow, set foot in Lucknow.” He further added that the state government has organized a special event for him.

Shukla later went to City Montessori School, Gomtinagar, where a felicitation ceremony was planned. Deputy Chief Ministers, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak were expected to mark their presence at the event.
Shubhanshu Shukla is a qualified India Air Force pilot who created history by becoming the first Indian to travel to the International Space Station (ISS). He departed on June 26 on Dragon spacecraft from NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, Florida.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also felicitated Shukla on Sundayalong with his fellow astronauts Group Captain P.V. Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, and Group Captain Angad Pratap.
Shukla asserted that the Axiom-4 mission will help shape India’s future explorations. Raksha Mantri felicitated me, and I think this mission is a big achievement for our country, and it happened at the right time. India is on its journey of a human space flight- Mission Gaganyaan, Bharatiya Antriksh Station, and eventually, landing on the moon,” he said.
