Shradha murder case: Aaftab to appear in court proceedings through video-conferencing

The 14-day judicial detention of the accused Aftab was extended by Delhi’s Saket court on Friday.

Earlier, Aftab was in judicial custody for 13 days. After serving 13 days in judicial detention, he was produced before the court through videoconference on Friday.

Aaftab Amin Poonawalla, is currently detained in Tihar Jail on murder charges in connection with the death of his live-in partner Shraddha Walker.

The 28-year-old is currently being held in judicial custody for dismembering Shraddha’s body and keeping the chopped body pieces in a refrigerator before dumping them in the Chhatarpur jungles in south Delhi. Aaftab spends his free time planning his chess strategies, frequently alone himself but also occasionally with two other prisoners, according to the jail officials.

Aaftab is quite shrewd, and one of the case’s investigators even stated that a “new twist” could be anticipated.

Sources claim that Aaftab shares a cell with two other prisoners, who frequently play chess there.

Aaftab is accused of killing his live-in partner Shraddha by strangling her and dismembering her body into 35 pieces. Additionally, he is accused of chilling the cut body parts before dumping them in Gurugram and Delhi’s forests.

Aaftab, who admitted to killing Shraddha and dismembering her body into 35 pieces, was accused by the police of providing false information.

Aaftab was providing false information and deceiving the investigators, according to the Delhi Police’s testimony in court.
