“Sankalp Patra Is Complete”: BJP’s Tarun Chugh

On the 134th anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the BJP unveiled its manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’, which Party’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh hailed as complete that keeps in mind all the sections of Indian society.

Speaking to ANI, Tarun Chugh said, “The Sankalp Patra put forward by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is complete, keeping in mind all four directions of India and sections of society, especially poor, youth, women.”

He also hailed the manifesto for paying attention and taking care of the elderly and reiterated to continue the fight against poverty. “The elderly people of the country have been taken care of, all of them have been brought under medical cover…The fight against poverty will continue even in the time to come…”

The Party’s National General Secretary also said that their manifesto for the 2024 Lok sabha elections commits their past promises as well and will work consistently to develop the nation. “Our past promises have been committed in this Sankalp Patra. In the past 10 years, PM Modi alleviated 25 crore Indians from poverty and therefore, our fight against poverty will continue. The government under the leadership of PM Modi will work continuously to develop the infrastructure of the country.”

On Congress leaders’ reactions to the manifesto, Chugh said that the party fulfilled all the promises made during the past Lok Sabha elections and talked about various schemes that were implemented to help the people. “We have fulfilled whatever we promised in 2014 and 2019. Today, the ration is reaching the houses of 80 crore poor people. Four crore poor have received pucca houses, tap water has reached 14 crore houses, and 12 crore toilets have been built. Schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM SVANidhi were implemented… We have done many big things. The confusion that the Congress people are spreading is just a lie…”

The BJP released its poll manifesto on Sunday with the tagline “Modi ki Guarantee,” with a focus on more development, women’s welfare and a roadmap for “Viksit Bharat” (developed India). The manifesto released by the party promised ‘One Nation One Election’ and “single electoral roll.”

In its election promise, the party also aims to make the country the third largest economy in the world. The manifesto set the goal of making India a “global manufacturing hub” and was unveiled in the presence of PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath singh, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and party President JP Nadda.

The BJP had appointed a manifesto committee headed by Rajnath Singh that met twice to deliberate on its contents after the party had launched multiple exercises, including massive campaigns across the country to seek people’s suggestions before the release of the ‘Sankalp Patra.’

The Lok Sabha polls in the country are scheduled to take place from April 19, 2024, to June 1, 2024, to choose the 543 representatives for the 18th Lok Sabha.
