S. Jaishankar to Represent India at Donald Trump’s Inauguration

S. Jaishankar to Represent India at Donald Trump’s Inauguration

India will be represented by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at the swearing-in ceremony of President-Elect Donald Trump on January 20. The External Affairs Ministry confirmed on Sunday that Jaishankar would attend the event in Washington, D.C., at the invitation of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee.

Jaishankar’s US Visit and Meetings

He is likely to hold meetings with members of the incoming US administration. He will also hold talks with other dignitaries who will be present during the ceremony.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has reportedly declined an invitation from the outgoing administration. Other world leaders who have expressed interest in attending the inauguration include those from Chile, Peru, Nigeria, and Mozambique.

Among the notable leaders who have confirmed their attendance include Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Argentine President Javier Milei, and El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele.
