At least seven rocket ammunition were found in a Patiala, Punjab rubbish dump on Rajpura Road, triggering fear among natives. Upon a quick search of the scene, police discovered the materials a tipster had warned were strange.
Senior Superintendent of Police for Patiala (SSP), Nanak Singh, told journalists that initial probes suggest the ammo was probably abandoned by a scrap dealer. Singh stated, “Preliminary investigation suggests that a scrap dealer had left these here as it is a garbage dump,” according to a cursory inquiry. Even so, first judged, law enforcement has not excluded other options.

The military team requested a more thorough investigation.
In response to the discovery, the police have requested the assistance of an army team in the inquiry. SSP Singh verified, “We have also called an army team for further investigation.” Particularly given previous incidents of rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) in the area, this step underlines the gravity of the situation.
Worries about security in the area
This discovery comes about a year after a rocket-propelled rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on a police station in Tarn Taran region, around 200 kilometers from Patiala.
Seven months after another RPG assault on the intelligence headquarters of the Punjab Police in Mohali, the incident occurred in December 2022. The frequency of these events makes one wonder about the safety of the state.
While keeping their inquiry into the origin of the rocket ammunition and its possible connection to local security problems, government is trying to see that the find does not present a larger menace.
