Rekha Gupta outlines ‘5 targets in 100 days’ as BJP’s plan for Delhi’s development

Delhi’s newly appointed Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, has outlined her strategy to address five major issues within the first 100 days of her tenure. The goal is to deliver “visible results” to the people who entrusted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with governance, according to CNN-News18, citing party sources.

Her immediate priorities include implementing the Ayushman Bharat medical insurance scheme in Delhi, cleaning the Yamuna River, de-silting roads and sewers ahead of the monsoon season, launching a large-scale sanitation drive to clear garbage from streets, and carrying out urgent road repairs.

These key concerns are expected to be discussed in the first cabinet meeting following today’s oath-taking ceremony.

BJP sources, as quoted by CNN-News18, emphasized the trust placed by the people in the party, which secured 48 out of 70 seats—marking the first BJP-led government in the capital in 27 years.

“The new CM and her team have their work cut out to ensure people see the difference from how AAP ran the government over the last decade. This has also been the prime minister’s mantra and promise during the election campaign. The new team will work in mission mode to ensure the changes are experienced by people,” a BJP leader told CNN-News18.

Additionally, BJP had pledged to present the pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the first session of the new Delhi Assembly. Sources suggest this move could escalate scrutiny on the former Aam Aadmi Party government and its ministers.

Rekha Gupta was sworn in today at a grand ceremony held at Ramlila Ground, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several national and state leaders. Alongside her, newly appointed cabinet ministers Ashish Sood, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Parvesh Singh Sahib, Kapil Mishra, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Raviraj Indraj Singh also took their oaths as part of the BJP government.
