Union Minister Pralhad Joshi predicted on Friday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is likely to face defeat in the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat, asserting that this loss will be etched in Gandhi’s memory forever. “He (Rahul Gandhi) will be defeated, and he will never forget that defeat in his life,” Joshi remarked to reporters.
Rahul Gandhi is contesting against the BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh in Raebareli, currently representing Wayanad in the Lok Sabha, while Smriti Irani vies for re-election from Amethi. Congress has nominated KL Sharma as its candidate for the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for endorsing JD(S) candidate Prajwal Revanna, who faces allegations in a sexual harassment case, Pralhad Joshi condemned Congress, questioning their actions. “You (Congress) people made his father a minister, him the MP. You got the clipping but so far you haven’t filed the FIR, which was lodged now. People don’t forget the sin committed by the Congress party. You made Chief Minister from that party,” Joshi remarked.
Furthermore, another FIR was filed against JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna in connection with an ‘obscene video’ case at CID Police. Cases are registered under various sections of the IPC and the IT Act. Revanna was previously booked in an alleged sexual harassment case on April 28 following complaints by his former housekeeper, involving charges of sexual harassment, intimidation, and outraging the dignity of a woman.
