President Droupadi Murmu participated in prayers at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. She conducted rituals, including aarti, and received symbolic gifts from the temple authorities.
Earlier, she performed Sarayu Pujan and aarti at the banks of the river Sarayu, accompanied by the Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. This visit marked her first to the newly constructed temple.
President Murmu was welcomed by Governor Patel upon arrival at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya. The temple’s inauguration ceremony on January 22 was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and representatives of various spiritual and religious groups.
The temple, built in the traditional Nagara style, features intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities and houses the idol of Shri Ramlalla in its main sanctum sanctorum.
Since the inauguration, Ayodhya has witnessed a surge in devotees visiting the Hanumangarhi Ram Temple.
