Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹12,000 crore in Delhi on Sunday. These initiatives include sections of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor and Delhi Metro Phase-IV, marking significant milestones in the city’s connectivity and healthcare infrastructure.
First Namo Bharat Corridor Section Unveiled
PM Modi will inaugurate the 13-km Sahibabad (Ghaziabad) to New Ashok Nagar (Delhi) section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. This rapid transit project, valued at Rs 4,600 crore, is designed to enhance regional connectivity and reduce travel time significantly. The prime minister will also take a ride on the Namo Bharat train from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar at 11:15 am.
New Metro Link for West Delhi
Another highlight of the event will be the inauguration of a 2.8-km stretch of Delhi Metro Phase-IV between Janakpuri and Krishna Park. Costing Rs 1,200 crore, this section will improve connectivity for key West Delhi areas such as Vikaspuri, Krishna Park, and Janakpuri.
Foundation Stone for Future Projects
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for two major projects:
- Delhi Metro’s Rithala-Kundli Section
Spanning 26.5 km, this Rs 6,230 crore project will extend connectivity from Delhi to Nathupur (Kundli) in Haryana, benefiting commuters in northwestern Delhi and neighbouring regions. - Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) Campus in Rohini
A state-of-the-art facility worth Rs 185 crore, the CARI campus will include an Administrative Block, OPD and IPD facilities, and a dedicated Treatment Block. This initiative aims to advance healthcare and research in Ayurvedic medicine.
Boost to Connectivity and Healthcare
These projects underline the government’s commitment to modernising Delhi’s infrastructure and healthcare facilities. The new connectivity links will not only ease daily commutes but also bolster the city’s regional integration, while the CARI campus promises to provide cutting-edge healthcare solutions.
PM Modi’s initiatives mark a significant leap forward in transforming Delhi’s urban landscape.
