Indian prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about hispower dynamics in the iconic podcast with Lex Fridman on Sunday. Fridman asked the PM about the impact of holding such immense power in his hands. “you are loved by a lot of people. You are one of the most powerful humans in the world. Do you sometimes think about whether this much power has a corrupting effect on your mind, especially across the many years that you’ve been in power?,” he questioned.

The Prime Minister said that he does not claim to be a ‘powerful man’but a humble servent. He further added that he calls himself as the ‘prime servant’ of his people. The service is the guiding principle of his work ethic. He said, “As far as power is concerned, it is something I have never bothered about. I entered politics not to play power games, but to serve.” PM Modi further stated that his focus is on productivity than gaining power and has always dedicated his time working for the society and bringing a positive change in lives of many.”

Upon asking if he ever feels lonliness, he responded positively, “Look, I never experience loneliness because I am an ardent believer in the philosophy of one plus one, and this philosophy of one plus one is aligned with my moral compass, and whenever I am asked to elaborate on this outlook, I say, the first one represents Modi and the other one represents the Almighty. I am never alone for he is always there to keep me company. This is just how I function.”

Talking about the time during pandemic he shared that he created a working model that seamlessly operated throug video conferncing and he kept himself busy through remote work and virtual meetings. He also spent his time connecting with people he worked with prior. He then made a list of people aged 70 and above and personally called in to inquire about their health and family’s well-being. He mentioned that he made 40 calls per day.
