PM Narendra Modi said on Friday that no external attempts to foment disruption or controversy before the Parliament session had occurred in the preceding ten years. He reminded the Budget Session 2024 that foreign entities have repeatedly attempted to instigate disturbances before crucial sessions since 2014.
PM Modi on Foreign Influence in Parliament Session
While making the usual speech to start the session, PM Modi said, “People, especially media people should take note from 2014 till now… This might be the first session when no foreign interference or attempt to stoke a fire has been made.” He further added, “In the last 10 years, I have been watching every session… before every session, there are people ready to make mischief and there was no dearth of those who wanted to fan the flame. This is the first session after ten years when no foreign interference is setting off a spark.”
Though he didn’t mention any particular incidents, his comments seemed to relate to controversies in the past by US-based Hindenburg Research against SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and the Adani Group. These issues have been heatedly debated in the Parliament previously, most of which are brought up by the opposition.
Reforms and Development: A Roadmap for Viksit Bharat
The reform, performance, and transformation focus was reconfirmed by PM Modi, asking for the joint hand of both central and state governments to take it forward for development in India. He said, “The most focus is on reform. States and Centre together have to perform, and through janbhagidari, we can see transformation in the country.”
He pointed toward young citizens at 20 to 25 years old, the target beneficiaries being in India concerning their long-term developmental vision, the Viksit Bharat 2047, he said “By 2047, they will reap the fruits of the efforts being made today.”
PM Modi also motivated young MPs to be actively involved in the proceedings of parliament. He said that the contributions made today will shape India’s future. “For the younger MPs, this is a valuable opportunity. Hopefully, we will be able to meet the expectations and aspirations of the country.”
Budget 2024: A Step Towards India’s 2047 Vision
PM Modi called the 2024 budget historic because it is his first full-fledged budget in his third term. The PM was of the view that he hoped the budget would infuse fresh energy and hope into the nation.
“I pray that Maa Lakshmi continues to bless the poor and middle class of our country. It is a matter of great pride that India completed 75 years as a democratic nation. India has established itself well on the global pedestal…This is the first complete budget of my third term. I can confidently say that in 2047, when India will complete 100 years of Independence, India will fulfil its aim of Viksit Bharat and this budget will give new energy and hope to the nation” PM Modi said.
The Budget Session 2024 is underway, with the sole purpose of improving economic development, reforms, and policy inputs that would shape India’s new destiny.
