PM Modi flags off Assam’s first Vande Bharat Express

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Assam’s inaugural Vande Bharat Express, which will establish a connection between Guwahati in Assam and Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate the newly electrified sections of New Bongaigaon-Dudhnoi-Mendipather and Guwahati-Chaparmukh to the nation. He will also inaugurate the new DEMU/MEMU workshop shed at Lumding. This service is the first of its kind, offering premium semi-high-speed travel with aesthetically pleasing design, well-equipped facilities, and full air conditioning. It will operate between Guwahati in Assam and New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. The introduction of this new service will significantly reduce the current shortest journey time by the fastest train, covering the 411-kilometer distance in 5 hours and 30 minutes.

The Vande Bharat Express train service will operate six days a week discovering the new age rail travel with airlines like travel feelings for people of the northeast who will able to feel the comfort and speed during the journey.This will be the fastest train in this sector and will benefit IT professionals, businessmen, students and tourists.Vande Bharat Express fulfils an ambitious plan laid by Indian Railways to pitchfork the standards and speed of rail travel in the country.
