PM Modi has strongly condemned the recent Israeli strikes on Doha that killed six people in an area close to embassies and schools. In a phone call with Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, PM Modi expressed India’s solidarity with Qatar and underlined that diplomacy and peace should replace violence in the Middle East.

His message shows India’s role as a supporter of restraint and dialogue at a time of growing regional tensions.

PM Modi Speaks with Emir of Qatar

On Wednesday, PM Modi spoke with Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani. He expressed India’s “deep concern” over the attacks and offered condolences to the families of the victims. Modi’s words highlighted India’s long-standing position of respecting sovereignty, following international law, and solving disputes through peaceful talks.

Sharing the details on X, Modi wrote: “Spoke with Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and expressed deep concern at the attacks in Doha. India condemns the violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly State of Qatar.”

India Calls for Dialogue, Not Escalation

PM Modi asked all sides to avoid making the conflict worse. He warned that any further escalation could spread instability across the Middle East.

He said, “India stands firmly in support of peace and stability in the region, and against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.” This shows India’s consistent stand against violence and its push for diplomacy as the only way to solve such conflicts.

Why the Strikes Raised Alarm?

The Israeli strikes hit a sensitive part of Doha where diplomatic offices and schools are located. Six civilians lost their lives, which led to international criticism and fear of a larger conflict. Many observers warned that the strikes could pull more countries into the crisis if peace efforts fail.

India’s Role in the Middle East

PM Modi shows India’s sympathy with Doha by having a brief conversation with the Emir of Qatar. This highlighted India’s role as a champion for Middle Eastern stability even more. Given its close energy ties with Qatar and the fact that millions of its citizens work there, India has a significant interest in preserving peace and security in the Gulf.

PM Modi’s speech also highlighted India’s foreign policy values – respect for sovereignty, non-interference in other countries’ internal matters, and choosing dialogue over conflict.
