NIA Takes Charge Of J&K’s Reasi Terror Case Investigation

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has now taken charge of J&K’s Reasi terror attack investigation and is conducting a thorough probe into the matter announced officials.

The investigation was transferred from Jammu and Kashmir Police to anti-terror agency on June 15.  Later, it filed an FIR on Ministry of Home Affairs orders, on the basis of the gravity of the situation.

Earlier in the aftermath of the attack, NIA reached the spot to support local police and analyze the ground situation.

Later, the NIA’s forensic arm of the team also visited the site and thoroughly collected the required evidence.

Hence, by involving the NIA, the probe is expected to be enhanced and ensure detailed analysis of the evidence.

What Happened In Reasi? 

On June 9 evening, the bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori cave shrine to Katra in Reasi district was attacked by the terrorist in Teryath village.

As a result, the bus lost its control and it fell into the gorge. Leaving nine people dead and 33 injured.

This happened around the time, the whole union cabinet including Prime minister Narendra Modi were being sworn at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.

Later, a search operation and an investigation into the incident was initiated and injured were taken to the hospital.
