New details have emerged in the gruesome killing of 29-year-old merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput, whose body was found enclosed within a drum filled with cement. His wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her boyfriend, Sahil Shukla, have been arrested over the crime, which has rocked the country.
Saurabh Rajput Murder Plot Unfolds
As per reports, Muskan was reluctant at first to stab her unconscious husband, but Sahil forced her to do it. He gave her a knife, showed her how to stab him, and told her to stab Saurabh in the heart three times. “When Muskan could not bring herself to use the knife, Sahil held her hand and made her stab an unconscious Saurabh in the heart thrice,” a police source informed PTI.
The killing occurred on March 4, and Muskan and Sahil then cut the body into pieces and hid it in a cement-filled drum. The couple then went on a holiday to Himachal Pradesh, tricking Saurabh’s family by sending messages from his phone.
Grisly Autopsy Findings: Saurabh Rajput Stabbed in the Heart
The post-mortem was done by a panel of physicians on March 20, with gruesome details about the killing emerging. The autopsy established that Saurabh had been stabbed through the heart using utmost force. His body had been extensively battered because of the cement it was buried in.
“The heart was struck with such force that the knife penetrated deep inside, leaving it severely damaged. The legs were bent backwards, stiffened to the point they couldn’t be straightened, and the body was fragmented — the neck detached, hands cut off at the wrists, and the torso separated,” explained one of the doctors who examined it.
The autopsy report has been submitted to the police for investigation.
Investigation and Arrest
UP Police arrested Muskan and Sahil on March 18, shortly after the body was found. Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh said that several aspects of the case are being investigated. Any potential connections to occult practices are also investigated.
“Muskan has made it clear in her statements that Sahil had said that ‘you will have to kill Saurabh, only then we can start a new life’,” PTI quoted a police source as saying.
Occult Practices Linked to Murder?
Family of Saurabh Rajput amily accused occult rituals of being involved in his killing. His mother, Renu Devi, alleged that Muskan and Sahil were involved in occultism and used it to rationalize their act. “Both Muskan and Sahil were into occult practices. They killed my son by performing tantric rituals,” she said.
Muskan’s mother, Kavita Rastogi, and father, Pramod Rastogi, accused Sahil of manipulating their daughter into believing in tantric rituals. The parents said Sahil kept Muskan isolated from her six-year-old daughter and controlled her behavior through mental manipulation.
The police have yet to confirm the occult angle but have ensured all allegations are under thorough investigation.
