Poonch, July 2: Security forces have successfully thwarted a major terror plot in the Mankot area of the Line of Control (LoC) district of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. Twin IEDs of 12kg of explosives has been seized during the operation.
According to Indian Army sources, a suspicious object was reported on the BG-Mankot road, prompting swift action from the Indian Army, followed by Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Bomb Disposal Team. The area was immediately cordoned off, and traffic movement was suspended. Subsequent searches led to the discovery of two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) weighing 8kg and 4kg respectively.
Authorities are currently conducting investigations to apprehend the individuals responsible for planting these IEDs on the road.
