The Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the world’s largest religious events, started on Monday at the revered confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers in Uttar Pradesh. Over 40 crore devotees participated in the first holy dip, despite the biting cold. PTI reports that more than 45 crore attendees are expected to throng this iconic event throughout the year, making it a historic spiritual congregation.
In the midst of religious fervor, a viral video from the Mela has been doing the rounds on social media. The clip shows a sadhu in his tent being interviewed by a YouTuber. The situation escalated when the sadhu, seemingly irked by persistent questioning, struck the YouTuber with tongs and forcibly removed him from the tent. Addressing the onlookers, the sadhu was overheard saying, “Tumlog dekh rhe ho kya galat bola isney (Did you guys listen to what wrong he said)?

The whole incident has called for mixed reactions from people online. While some seemed to find some humor in it, others called out both sides for their actions.
It happens only when a sadhu gets pierced with nonsensical questions, one sarcastically said. A second: Respect their personal space. It’s not every other thing for people to consume content! Someone commented humorously: Sadhu 1- YouTuber 0, Instant karma indeed
However, many reacted with the critical angle: “The YouTuber clearly crossed a line. You can’t ask anything and still anticipate the people to be calm.” On the other hand, someone argued that “Even the sadhu should have handled it better. Violence isn’t the answer.
Sarcastic reply followed soon afterwards with the writing: “Guess the YouTuber got more content than he bargained for!” Another just commented, “These creators should know their limitations. Not all is meant to attract clicks and views.”
While there were lots of support for sadhu, someone very succinctly wrote: “Let this be a lesson for clout chasers to think twice before disturbing someone’s peace.”
