One terrorist was eliminated and three Indian Army soldiers were wounded in a shootout that exploded in the Guddar forest region of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.
Official sources say the operation was initiated after the Jammu and Kashmir Police had offered precise intelligence, following which a combined search was undertaken by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF.

Guarded troops noticed doubtful movement in the area, and on being confirmed, terrorists started firing, leading to a fierce gun battle in which one terrorist was neutralized and a junior commissioned officer was injured. Operation is now underway,” the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps tweeted on X.

Security personnel who were deployed on the ground indicated that two or three terrorists could still be hiding in the area. Many more forces have been sent, and an encounter continues to take place.
