Soon after the video was spread on social media, the Kanpur Police reacted swiftly. They responded to a concerned user’s post on X (formerly Twitter). The authorities confirmed that they had begun an investigation and had informed the concerned officials.

Preliminary reports indicate that the man belonged to Awas Vikas, Kanpur, and had several traffic violation charges against him – around 10. This is not the first time a person has been spotted riding casually on the roads of Kanpur. Just in June this year, a man was presented before the book for posing like the Titanic while riding on a moving bike, and the other man was fined ₹5,000 for doing a wheelie in front of police officers.

Social media erupts with renewed calls for the strict implementation of road safety laws, with netizens demanding severe punishment for offenders.
