Congress leader Jairam Ramesh took a jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest podcast statement in which the Prime Minister claimed that he is human and can make mistakes. Ramesh connected Modi’s remarks to the Prime Minister’s controversial “non-biological” comment made earlier, accusing him of doing damage control.

Modi Reflects on Being Human and Making Mistakes
In his maiden podcast released on Friday, PM Modi discussed his leadership journey and philosophy. During his interaction with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, Modi admitted that he is human and may make mistakes. However, he emphasized that he would never act out of bad intentions. He shared, “When I became Gujarat chief minister, I promised to work hard and not do anything for myself. I may make mistakes, but I will not do anything wrong intentionally. I have made it a mantra of my life: mistakes are inevitable, but I will never act with malice. I am human, not a God.”
Jairam Ramesh Hits Back at Modi’s Remarks
Reacting to Modi’s statement, Jairam Ramesh took to X (formerly Twitter) and sarcastically wrote, “This from a man who proclaimed his non-biological status just eight months back. This is damage control.” Ramesh’s remark pointed to Modi’s controversial statement made earlier about his supposed “non-biological” energy, which stirred considerable debate across political circles.
PM Modi’s “Non-Biological” Comment Sparks Controversy
In an interview before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi discussed the intensification of his election campaign and work routine. He claimed that his energy came from a divine source. He said, “When my mother was alive, I believed I was born biologically. After her passing, I realized that God had sent me, and this energy could not be from my biological body, but from a divine source. I believe God guides me in everything I do.”
This comment sparked significant controversy. Critics questioned the implications of such statements on the Prime Minister’s public persona.
Modi Discusses Idealism Over Ideology
In the same podcast, PM Modi also touched on the theme of idealism versus ideology in politics. While acknowledging the importance of ideology, he emphasized that idealism is crucial for success. Modi referred to Mahatma Gandhi and VD Savarkar as examples of leaders with different paths, yet united by the common goal of freedom.
