Ownly is a food delivery app launched by Rapido, focusing on giving users affordable meals while ensuring no commission charged from restaurants. The app has been launched now in selected areas of Bengaluru. But very soon it is planning to strech their business across nation.

According to TechCrunch, Ownly will adopt a no-commission model for restaurants, thus allowing eateries to sell food at prices near those that they charge offline. The company’s pricing structure includes basic items like rice and eggs for under Rs. 100, and at least four meal options priced at Rs. 150 or less. Rapido aims to keep the overall cost roughly 15 percent lower compared to popular competitors like Swiggy and Zomato.

Ownly App: Delivery Model and Service Area

Before the official rollout, Ownly was tested in a closed pilot across a few neighbourhoods of Bengaluru. The launch came after discussions between Rapido and the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) over onboarding terms and conditions. Under the final arrangement, partner restaurants will pay the delivery charge for orders within four kilometers instead of paying platform commissions. Delivery charges have been fixed at Rs. 20 for smaller orders within this range and Rs. 25 for orders over Rs. 100. Rapido also mentions that there will be no additional fees levied from users such as platform charges, packaging costs, inflated rates, or hidden costs.

Currently, Ownly is functional in areas like Byrasandra, Tavarekere, Madiwala (BTM) Layout, and Hosur Sarjapura Road (HSR) Layout. Trying to book from Delhi and surrounding areas shows a message that the location is not covered at the moment. The app is not yet available on the Apple App Store.

Rapido Steps Into a Challenging Market

This new launch marks Rapido’s entry into the market, which is dominated by Swiggy and Zomato for the most part. This launch may be the challenge of While the position of these two players has remained intact, other platforms have struggled to survive. Coca-Cola-backed Thrive operated across 80 cities, offering flexible choices for restaurants and users alike. It shut business in India in December 2024 due to tough competition in the market and operational hurdles.

Where is the ownly app located? The company has now launched ‘Ownly’, an exclusively food delivery app, in three neighbourhoods of Bengaluru, according to reports: Koramangala, HSR Layout and BTM Layout.
