PM Narendra Modi on Saturday said India is ready to lift the world out of slow growth, backed by strong reforms and expert predictions that the country’s GDP share will soon reach 20 per cent.

He also announced major upcoming reforms, India’s push to become a developed nation by 2047, and a new milestone—exporting electric vehicles to 100 countries.

India’s Economic Strength

Speaking at a media event in New Delhi, Modi highlighted India’s growth journey. He said the country is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy and is steadily moving toward the 2047 target of becoming a developed nation.

He stressed that reforms drive this progress. “It is not in my nature to be satisfied with what has already been achieved. The same approach guides our reforms,” he said.AL

GST Reforms Before Diwali

PM announced that the next-generation GST reform process will be completed before Diwali. He said the new system will simplify tax laws and reduce prices for consumers.

“For us, reforms are neither a compulsion nor crisis-driven but a matter of commitment and conviction,” he said. PM Modi added that the reform process will help improve both the Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living in India.

Call for Private Sector Investment

PM Modi urged the private sector to increase investments in new areas. He mentioned clean energy, quantum technology, advanced materials, biotechnology, and battery storage as key sectors that will shape India’s future.

“With this arsenal of next-generation reforms, manufacturing in India will increase, market demand will rise, the industry will receive a new boost, and new employment opportunities will be created,” he said.

India’s EV Export Push

Alongside reforms, PM Modi announced another achievement for India. He revealed that the country will begin exporting electric vehicles to 100 countries.

Speaking at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum, he called it a big step in India’s green mobility mission. “I want to share another achievement of India,” he said. “We are now going to export electric vehicles to 100 countries. A very big programme related to this will be held two days from now, on August 26.”

This move, he said, will showcase India’s ability to lead in clean energy and sustainable technology on the global stage.

Road to a Developed India

PM Modi said India’s growth is guided by the mantra of “reform, perform, and transform.” He called reforms a matter of vision and commitment rather than short-term fixes. He also emphasized that India’s economy is about more than just numbers, it’s about enhancing industries, generating jobs, and making people’s lives better.
