The Centre has appointed Dharmendra, an IAS officer from the 1989 batch, as the new Chief Secretary of Delhi. He takes over from Naresh Kumar, a 1987-batch IAS officer, whose term extension concluded on August 31.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that, with the Competent Authority’s approval, Sh. Dharmendra, IAS (AGMUT:1989), is being transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi and appointed as Chief Secretary of GNCTD, effective September 1, 2024, or from the date of joining, whichever is later,” the order stated.
