In a chilling incident from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, an eight-month-pregnant woman was strangled to death by her husband following a domestic squabble. The horrific incident happened on Monday morning in Uda Colony, under the PM Palem area of the city.
The suspect, who is known as Gyaneshwar, reportedly engaged in a fight with his wife, 27-year-old Anusha. In the scuffle, he strangled her, which resulted in her losing consciousness. The police added that he later took her to a nearby hospital, where the doctors certified that she was brought dead.
Gyaneshwar turned himself in after the incident occurred. The authorities have since arrested him.
Couple Had Love Marriage, Frequent Disputes Reported
Based on preliminary investigations, the couple had a love marriage three years back and had reportedly been frequently quarreling. Police added the arguments had been growing more heated in recent times, which might have led to the incident.
Gyaneshwar operates a fast food center close to the Scouts and Sagarnagar view point in Visakhapatnam.
Post-Mortem Ordered, Case Registered
Police have filed a case and sent Anusha’s corpse for a post-mortem report. Investigation continues to learn more details about the incident.
Authorities have promised that legal action will be taken strictly as per the investigation results.
