In a dramatic event on Thursday, a multistorey building in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, collapsed and was swept away by the swollen Parvati River. The structure, located near the riverbank, gave way suddenly, collapsing into the rushing waters and disappearing within moments. A video captured the building vanishing into the river almost instantaneously, with onlookers fleeing the scene as the floodwaters claimed the entire edifice.
The collapse is part of a broader crisis in Himachal Pradesh, which has been experiencing relentless rainfall leading to swollen river levels and widespread flooding. On the same day, separate cloudbursts in Shimla and Mandi districts resulted in one death and left over 30 people missing. These cloudbursts have caused severe disruptions and damage throughout the state.
