Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the terror attack in Jerusalem on Monday. He said, “Strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack on innocent civilians in Jerusalem today. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.”

PM Modi added that India stands against “terrorism in all its forms and manifestations” and follows a policy of “zero tolerance towards terrorism.”

What Happened in Jerusalem

At least six people were killed and many others injured in a shooting in east Jerusalem on Monday morning. The attack happened at Ramot Junction on Yigal Yadin Street. Two gunmen boarded a bus and started firing at passengers. Security forces quickly responded and killed the attackers.

Video footage showed people running from a bus stop near the northern entrance of Jerusalem. Witnesses said they heard many gunshots before police arrived. Emergency teams rushed the injured to hospitals. Authorities said the quick action prevented more people from getting hurt.

Attack Amid Rising Tensions

The attack happened just hours after Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz warned Hamas. He asked the group to drop weapons and surrender, or else they would be “annihilated.”

The shooting has further raised tensions in the region, which has already seen a rise in violence in recent months.

India’s Stand on Terrorism

India has always taken a strong stand against terrorism. PM Modi’s message showed support for Israel and repeated India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terror.

India has also called on other countries to work together to fight terrorism, as it is a threat to global peace. Security has been tightened in Jerusalem after the attack. Officials are checking the background of the gunmen and their links.

The world is expected to react strongly, with many countries likely to condemn the shooting. Families of victims are mourning, while survivors continue to recover in hospitals.
