Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: Congress Leader Pargat Singh Highlights Close Races

Congress leader Pargat Singh commented on the ongoing vote counting in Haryana, noting that there are still three to four rounds left, particularly in 15 constituencies where the margin is less than 1,000 votes. Speaking to media, Singh emphasized the uncertainty surrounding the election results, stating, “We still cannot predict what will happen. I still have confidence that Congress will form the government in Haryana.”

Singh also addressed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, expressing optimism for Congress’s performance there, asserting that the people’s sentiments are contrary to the portrayal by the BJP.

BJP Expresses Confidence in Forming Government

In contrast, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed satisfaction with the BJP’s performance in Haryana, where the party is leading in the majority of seats. Yadav extended his congratulations to BJP leaders, officials, and Chief Minister Nayab Saini, expressing confidence that the BJP would secure a third consecutive term in the state.

“We had hoped that due to the work done by the BJP government in the last 10 years and the impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s working style, the BJP is going to form a government for the third time in Haryana,” he stated.

Yadav took a swipe at the Congress party and its leader, Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the election was a reflection of Gandhi’s failures rather than a contest against the BJP. He underscored the BJP’s focus on development, which he believes resonates with the public.

Current Election Trends

As per the latest trends from the Election Commission of India at 1:50 PM, the BJP is leading in 47 seats, while the Congress is ahead in 38 seats. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are leading in one seat each, and Independents and smaller parties are leading in three seats.
