The Indian Army has come into contact with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, with an active gunfight taking place in the Dul area. The encounter began earlier on Sunday when troops, acting on intelligence inputs, moved in to track down the suspects.
The White Knight Corps confirmed the clash on X, stating, “Gunfire exchanged. Operation under progress.”

Operation Follows Kulgam Tragedy
This latest encounter comes just a day after two soldiers were killed in Kulgam district during overnight firing. The fallen personnel were identified as Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh. Both lost their lives as Operation Akhal entered its ninth day.
Mission Launched on August 1
Security forces had started Operation Akhal on August 1 after receiving credible information about the presence of terrorists in the region. The effort is a coordinated one, involving the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the Special Operations Group (SOG). In the Kulgam operation, at least one terrorist was neutralised.

Tributes to the Fallen Soldiers
Paying homage to the two slain soldiers, the Chinar Corps posted on X, “Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of the Bravehearts, L/Nk Pritpal Singh and Sep Harminder Singh, in line of duty for the Nation. Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us. Indian Army expresses deepest condolences and stand in solidarity with the bereaved families. Operation continues.”
