Encounter Breaks Out in Kupwara’s Keran Sector One terrorist Killed

A gunbattle broke out between security forces and terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday, officials said.

Senior Police officer told A group of five terrorists who were trying to infiltrate from the Keran sector of Kupwara, Security forces took timely action and fired at them.

On July 14, the forces foiled an infiltration bid from the Karen sector, and three infiltrators were killed by the army, from whose possession a large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered.

The exchange of firings is going on, and further details are awaited, the officials added.
