External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, along with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh, officially launched the website for the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) in New Delhi.
Jaishankar invited the Indian diaspora to join the event, emphasizing its theme, Viksit Bharat ki Sankalpna Mein Pravasi Bhartiyon Ka Yogdan—highlighting the diaspora’s role in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The event will be held in Bhubaneswar, the Temple City, from January 8-10, offering attendees a unique blend of cultural heritage and modern insights. Delegates can look forward to exhibitions, thematic sessions, and the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Sammaan awards ceremony.
– Youth PBD: Day 1 will focus on young members of the diaspora.
– Inauguration and Plenary Sessions: Day 2 will feature formal inauguration and sessions on topics like sustainable development and women’s empowerment.
– Valedictory Session: President Droupadi Murmu will chair the concluding session on Day 3.
Exhibitions will include the Ramayana and highlight diaspora contributions to technology, showcasing India’s fusion of tradition and modernity.
The newly launched website provides a one-stop solution for event details, registrations, and logistics. It also features tourist and cultural highlights of Odisha to enrich the delegates’ experience.
