Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer, Pankaj Agarwal, stated that changes have been made to the special summary revision program of the voter list. According to the guidelines of the Election Commission, new voters will now be registered considering July 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.
Providing detailed information, the Chief Electoral Officer mentioned that the draft voter list will be published on August 2, 2024. The revised schedule, originally set to begin on June 25, has now been extended to August 1, 2024.
Pankaj Agarwal informed that claims and objections can be filed from August 2 to August 16, 2024. The resolution of claims and objections will be carried out by August 26. Special dates of August 3, 4, 10, and 11 have been designated for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to be present at the polling stations, as arranged by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
He also urged the representatives of political parties to instruct their booth level agents to contact the BLOs on these dates and be present at the polling stations. He emphasized that no voter can cast their vote without their name on the voter list. The final publication of the voter list will be on August 27, 2024.
He directed all concerned BLOs, AEROs, and other employees and officers involved in the election process to perform their duties according to the revised schedule. The initial revised list was to be published on July 25, but the commission has now amended this schedule.
