Delhi To Get Its Fourth ISBT Station At Tikri Border

In order to make traveling convenient for outer Delhi people, who frequently travel to Haryana and other places, Delhi government is likely to construct a fourth inter-state bus terminal in proximity to the Tikri border.

As announced by government official, the land is already located, and the plan is still at an initial stage. Currently, they are exploring the plan’s feasibility.

Further, the official also announced, that smaller terminals similar to mumbai, which cater to only six buses might start and will be extended later.

According to another officer, the presence of ISBT in outer Delhi, might help amidst restriction of transport movement due to pollution in winter.

Moreover, buses that are considered unsuitable for operation due to engine standard deficiencies might be redirected to the new terminal. To mitigate pollution levels during these periods, only buses powered by electricity, CNG, or compliant with BS-VI standards are permitted to enter the city from Haryana, UP, and Rajasthan.

Delhi Panchayat Sangh Pramukh Than Singh Yadav also asserted, that people have been asking for bus terminal and Delhi metro extension for a long time, as presence of the terminal can make travel easier and will improve the economy of the region.

Meanwhile, the expansion of Delhi metro, addition of inter-state and inter-city in city’s outer area was popular issue, which dominated recently held Lok Sabha Elections.
