Union Home Minister Amit Shah is chairing a high-level security review meeting at his residence to assess the situation following the November 10 blast in Delhi that claimed eight lives and injured several others.
The meeting is being attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, the Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the Delhi Police Commissioner.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir has joined the meeting virtually as part of the coordinated security assessment.
Meeting Underway at Home Minister’s Residence Followed By Blast at Delhi Red Fort
The crucial meeting has started at 11 am at Amit Shah’s residence. Among those who have attended the high-level meeting are Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, NIA Chief Sadanand Vasant Date, and Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat have virtually joined the meeting, officials confirmed.

Blast at Delhi Red Fort Sparks Multi-Agency Probe
The review comes amid growing security concerns in Delhil after the Hyundai i20 car blast near the Red Fort Metro Station around 7 pm on Monday. The explosion occurred near a traffic signal between Gates 1 and 4, setting off panic in the crowded area.
Soon after the incident, Amit Shah spoke directly with the Commissioner of Delhi Police and Director of IB, ordering a joint probe by multiple agencies: the NIA, NSG, FSL, and Delhi Police. “All agencies have been instructed to conduct a detailed investigation into the nature and cause of the blast and submit their report at the earliest,” an official said.
Forensic Teams Return to Blast Site at Red Fort
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory revisited the blast site on Tuesday morning to collect more samples. The NIA and NSG are working together in identifying the exact nature of the explosive material used for the high-intensity detonation.
Blast at Delhi Red Fort to Possibly Be Linked With Lashkar-e-Taiba
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police are probing a viral social media post claiming an Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) link to the Red Fort explosion. Sources revealed that the trail of the I20 car used in the blast leads to Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir because it was purchased by a resident there.
CCTV Footage and Search Operations
Investigators have retrieved CCTV footage showing the suspect’s car entering and exiting the Red Fort parking area shortly before the blast. Initial analysis suggests that the driver was alone at the time.
Following the explosion, Delhi Police launched an all-night search operation in hotels in Paharganj, Daryaganj, and nearby areas. The hotel records were scrutinized and four people were detained for questioning.
Widespread Investigation Underway After Red Fort Blast
More than 200 police personnel are scanning the CCTV footage from Badarpur border up to Kashmere Gate, covering all possible routes that the suspect vehicle could have taken. The footage includes areas near the Sunheri Masjid parking close to Red Fort. The Delhi Police have invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Explosives Act, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as part of the ongoing investigation.
