The recent BMW accident has devastated his family and friends grieving following the passing away of Finance Ministry official Navjot Singh. His friend Rishabh Samrat narrated the agonizing coincidence which made them more heartbroken.

“It is the 22nd birthday of Navjot’s son, Navnoor, today, and Navjot had indeed booked a gift for him that arrived this morning itself,” said Rishabh, his voice trembling with difficulty in suppressing tears. The gift arrived the same day as Navjot’s funeral.

Rishabh charged the accused driver, Gaganpreet, with knowingly driving Navjot away from the site of the accident in order to cover up what occurred. He said she drove him to a Mukherjee Nagar hospital instead of the nearest one, continuing that her father is a friend of the hospital.

He recalled having viewed his last message to Navjot the day before, in which they discussed planning for retirement and finding a new flat. “Apart from his car, he would take his bike out for a spin at times, Rishabh clarified, referring to his friend’s love for motorcycling.

Rishabh also shared that Gaganpreet contacted him while heading towards Azadpur. “When they were taking him towards Azadpur, Gaganpreet also called me, so I assumed Navjot must have gone that side,” he recounted.

Expressing hope for justice, he added, “We hope the court will deliver justice.”
