Delhi Courts Hit by Hoax Bomb Threat Before Key Red Fort Blast Accused Jasir Bilal Wani Hearing

Delhi’s Saket Court, along with Patiala House and Dwarka courts, received a bomb threat on Tuesday, prompting police to immediately begin evacuating the premises. According to a lawyer present at the scene, the alert came through an email around 11:00 AM, warning that a bomb explosion had been planned at the court complex. The email was allegedly sent in the name of Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The lawyer explained that the moment judicial officers and the Bar Association learned of the threat, an urgent evacuation was ordered. Both the main court building and the lawyers’ chamber block were cleared within minutes. He added that such terror-related panic was deeply concerning and condemned the atmosphere of fear being created across the country.

Referring to the recent Red Fort incident where explosives were planted in a vehicle leading to the death of several innocent people he said similar threats have now been reported at Saket Court and other district courts. Police teams and security personnel have since taken control of the area while further investigations are underway.  The threat was later confirmed to be a hoax.

Saket and Tis Hazari Courts Also Receive Threat Emails

On the same day, Saket Court and Tis Hazari Court also got bomb threat emails. Their bar associations confirmed the alerts. Saket Bar Secretary Advocate Anil Basoya said the court halted work for about two hours before resuming once the building was checked.

“Courts Are Functioning Smoothly,” Says Bar Association

New Delhi Bar Association Secretary Advocate Tarun Rana said the threat came through emails sent to several district courts. He added that all threats were fake and that there was no panic, noting that “courts are functioning in a smooth manner.”

Security Tightened Outside Patiala House Court

Before Jasir Bilal’s appearance, the Rapid Action Force (RAF) was deployed outside Patiala House Court. Police also called in bomb disposal units and dog squads to thoroughly inspect the area.

Who Is Jasir Bilal Wani?

Jasir Bilal, also known as Danish, is from Qazigund, Jammu & Kashmir. He was detained along with his uncle by the J&K Police on Saturday. He is the second accused arrested by the NIA in the Red Fort car blast case.

Linked to Faridabad Terror Module and Red Fort Blast

Jasir’s arrest is connected to the Faridabad terror module and the November 10 Red Fort blast that killed more than 10 people. His family lives close to Dr. Adil Rather and Dr. Muzaffar Rather, brothers believed to be part of the same terror network.

Dr. Adil Rather Arrested, Brother Still Missing

Police earlier arrested Dr. Adil Rather from Uttar Pradesh for his role in pasting Jaish-e-Mohammed posters in Nowgam. His brother Muzaffar Rather is still absconding, according to investigators.
